March Madness

Every year, at the midway point of March, I become something that I'm really not most of the year.....a basketball fan. I catch myself watching "the gateway drug to the NCAA", conference tournaments. I don't care if it's the Big East or the Northwest Farmers League, I'm up late hours watching basketball.

Sunday was selection Sunday. It's probably the only other thing I really get pumped about, sports-wise, on Sundays besides the NFL. This year, during the selection show, I was at a class and couldn't watch. That didn't mean I wasn't sneaking peeks at my cell phone to get updates. Basically, I've become a fanatic for another March. I have a feeling this is going to be a special one too. I, of course, have my brackets done. I miss doing the office pool at the church up in Kenosha. Good times, and a free lunch of your choice if you won. You just can't go wrong with that. We could be seeing some orange and blue at the end of this thing. Go 'cuse!

Could it be another Banner Year for the Orange?

Lack of sleep

I watched 3:46 minutes of amazing basketball last night. Then I only got 3 and a half hours of sleep. Go 'cuse. I need to go to bed.

One Year and Counting....

Sunday was an incredible day in the history of catalyst Christian church. We celebrated the first of what we hope will be many anniversaries. The set list for the week was:

God of this City - Chris Tomlin
You Are - JKB
Revive Us Again - JKB
You Are My Joy - David Crowder Band
This Revolution - JKB
Jesus Saved Me - JKB

There's nothing more fun that seeing more than 200 adults waving their arms and singing "La La La" in a Sunday morning worship service. The whole day was one of celebration as we sang, danced, and shouted the praises of God. Needless to say, it was a lot of fun.

The message that Dave delivered was right on point as he discussed God's grace in our lives, and laid out the vision and values of catalyst. We also had a visit from our good ol' friend, Yuri. You can watch one of Yuri's earlier videos below.

I've said it before, but I can't help restating my love for this church and the work that God is allowing us to do in Nicholasville. It's also pretty cool to see the many ways people are using their gifts in the church and community. It's more than a church. It really is a family.
